Whitewater can be just the beginning when you join us for a Mukwah Adventure. Just let us take care of the details.
We can arrange some horseback riding, indoor overnight accommodation, and almost anything that will feed your soul. Enjoy the unspoiled wilderness in Alberta's west country and take it to a higher level. That is what a customized Mukwah adventure is all about.
Want a new challenge or a new thrill? Ask about our cliff jumping or body surfing on the Red Deer River.
HIKES AT YA HA TINDA
Ya Ha Tinda means high prairie in the Cree language. Today it is a wildlife sanctuary, where life abounds, and Elk herds dwell in the winter months. It is also the location of Parks Canada's horse ranch, where they raise and train horses for back country service in Canada's park system. A Ya Ha Tinda hike includes a visit to two waterfalls and the opportunity of experiencing the natural waterslides. It's not just a hike, but a memory that will linger with you for years to come.

Hiking in the mountains, bring your camera for beautiful scenery, and try the natural waterslides.

RECIPE FOR A GOOD TIME
At Mukwah, the adrenaline rush of a day of whitewater is just the beginning. Our base camp, located on the bank of the picturesque Panther River, offers all the ingredients for a successful 'recovery' from your river adventure.
- Add one Steak Dinner
A good day of paddling mixed with the clean mountain air can stir up quite an appetite. Relax by the river, as we prepare the meanest steak dinner this side of hoooo-wah!
- Pop in a CD or Two
Every good adventure needs a soundtrack! Mellow out to the sweet sounds of the reggae beat, get low down to heart-wrenchin' blues or dance in your underwear to old-time rock 'n roll. (* Note: Mukwah reserves the right to veto any musical decisions deemed harmful to the public good.)
- Develop a Rivalry
While we don't like to toot our own horn, (we hire people for that), the elite Mukwah team continues to dominate 'Mountain Rules' volleyball (247-0) and rule the riverside horseshoe circuit. Don't say we didn't warn you!
- Mix in some Adventurous Souls
Gather around the campfire to share stories of shooting the king-sized waves at S-bend and Nationals, recall the rush of body surfing and cliff diving, or debate the outcome of the day's down-and-dirty water war.
Jump in the Tub
Feel your worries wash away as you kick in our hot tub or sauna. Truly a great way to enjoy a beautiful Alberta evening.
- Plan your next Mukwah Adventure
Whether it's one day or more, whether you're rested or sore, we'll leave you hungry, beggin' for more!
